The single "Manifesto" was recorded live at the Golden Hind pub in Cambridge in March 2019. It was part of a live album that is not currently available digitally.
Manifesto was the first of Les Ray’ songs that Red Velvet performed, back when they were a duo, and the original recording appears on their first CD "Songs of Love and Solidarity", again not currently available digitally. Les wrote it in the 1980s after watching the film “Fear Eats the Soul”, directed by Reiner Werner Fassbinder, about the love between a 60-year-old German woman and a younger Moroccan Gastarbeiter, or “guest worker”. It continues to be relevant In these worryingly intolerant and xenophobic times
